Noosa Malibu Club competitions have been held ever since the club formed back in 1986. They are the backbone and most frequent social aspect of the club for club members. We hold our club contest on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
We meet at the Noosa Heads Surf Club at 6.30 am in the summertime and 7 am in winter. We generally surf First Point, between the Groynes and occasionally at Castaways when the bay is not working.
Although not a serious contest, but more a social event, the old blokes never lose that competitive streak.
We usually have approx. 40 to 50 members all greeting the morning sun. The club runs different divisions, which includes Juniors, Ladies & Open Men. Our heats run for 20 minutes and we always try to have 2 rounds. Competition is friendly and everyone is out for a good time. We try and surf Club competitions 11 times a year with 8 counting towards the end of year tally, due to the fact that people may have other commitments on the day. Our season runs from January to December.
Point scores are recorded throughout the year, check the Point Score page to see your current ranking, and tallied at the end of the surf calendar. We hold a presentation day which includes winners for various divisions and age divisions along with best judge and club person of the year.
If you would like to find out more come along and join in the fun, and become a member.
