Description: Make a career move and get qualified by becoming a Surfing Judge and Official. Surfing Queensland presents the Surfing Australia “International Judging and Officiating Course” which is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and the International Surfing Association (ISA). All qualifications are nationally and internationally recognised throughout all surfing organisations.

By sitting the 1 day Judging Course you automatically qualify as a Level 1 Judge. If you choose to complete further practical hours (20), you can qualify as a Level 2 Judge and be eligible to work at State and National level competitions. The education of our sport’s officials is paramount to the direct success of the competition system. The role of a Judge in a surfing contest is to decide which surfer performs closest to the judging criteria in a particular heat. It is therefore essential that the judge’s have the knowledge, confidence and finally the experience to obtain the correct results.

The International judging accreditation gives the individual judge access to the ISA Judging exchange program and the ability to judge at all ISA sanctioned events. There are currently 18 countries that are partners in our global development program.

All participants will receive quality judging resources, international judging manual and DVD, Surfing Australia Rule Book, judges ID card and inclusion on the national judging register. A light meal and tea and coffee are supplied. Numbers are strictly limited per course and filled on a first in first served basis Cheers.
